DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT
OF POSITION:

- Provide direct, specially-designed instruction to students in a sub separate class for students with profound ASD (autism spectrum disorder) by providing individualized instruction on IEPs that support progress towards achieving their goals and objectives;
- Collect data and track progress around student learning and individual student goals;
- Collaborate and communicate closely with general education teachers, special education service providers, school psychologist, paraeducators, and parents/caretakers;
- Ability to provide support and guidance and support to paraeducators to work towards students’ IEP goals and objectives;
- Ability to communicate regularly with all members of the special education team, including parents and caregivers to ensure that students are making progress;
- Experience with de-escalation strategies and willingness to be Safety Care trained;
- Ability to be flexible, have a positive attitude, and be a lifelong learner is necessary.
