DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT

OF POSITION:

The RBT is responsible for working directly with students who have behavioral needs by implementing behaviorally-based interventions within the educational environment. The RBT is expected to collect appropriate data, work collaboratively with the BCBA and other providers, demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in all aspects of the position, and have strong communication skills. QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed as a Registered Behavior Technician; Completion of Safety Care or related training; Ability to perform necessary physical activities to fulfill job responsibilities.

   

SALARY:

Per Educational Assistant Contract; RBT MOA

REGISTERED BEHAVIOR TECHNICIANS 

 

Job Description 

 

REPORTS TO: 

Director of Special Education, Secondary Special Education Coordinator, Building Principal 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: 

The RBT is responsible to work directly with students who have behavioral needs by implementing behaviorally based interventions within the educational environment. The RBT is expected to collect appropriate data, work collaboratively with the BCBA and other providers, demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in all aspects of the position, and have strong communication skills. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  1. Provide direct instruction of behavior strategies to students, including positive reinforcement and differential reinforcement across educational settings. 
  2. Demonstrate appropriate behavioral interventions, including proper Safety Care Interventions to ensure student safety; ability to manage severe or significant disruptive behavior 
  3. Collect and evaluate data using direct and indirect methods. 
  4. Assess and monitor the generalization of intervention and supports across settings and staff members. 
  5. Provide consultation and support for BIPs and FBAs. 
  6. Assist in the development of intervention plans as appropriate. 
  7. Prepare notes and reports using objective data and observations, strategies and data 
  8. Collaborate closely with team members and appropriate related service staff 
  9. Communicate clearly orally and in writing with administration, providers, and parents 
  10. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator 

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  1. Completion of Safety Care or related training 
  2. Ability to perform necessary physical activities to fulfill job responsibilities 
  3. Qualified candidates must be MA licensed as a behavior technician.
