DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT

        OF POSITION:

• Design and implement an effective, tiered-support school counseling  program addressing academic, developmental, and social domains  - Use data to determine and implement student interventions and monitor the  impact of those interventions 
• Effectively collaborate with administrators, student support team members, and outside agencies to meet the needs of all students 
• Actively participate in Special Education IEP meetings and facilitate 504  meetings and the development of 504 plans, and MTSS reviews 
• Review student credit and achievement on an annual basis. 
• Support all aspects of post high school planning including career and college search, writing recommendations and processing applications 
• Arrange, support and supervise visits from colleges, tech schools, and the  military services 
• Provide information surrounding career exploration and training programs; administer and interpret career profile assessments 
• Assist in the planning and overall execution of annual programs for families including, but not limited to, Financial Aid Night, Post-Secondary planning  seminars and other relevant topics

QUALIFICATIONS:

DESE certification as School Guidance Counselor; Master’s level degree or  higher; minimum of three years of experience preferred

Per prevailing contract
